about
This song is about one of our friends who we invited to hang out. She was in a play at the time, and they were having a cast party that night. We sat at Tom's house being bored, and penned this magical tune. It's kinda about how things should've gone.
lyrics
I hope you had fun at your after-party,
Your thespian friends, well, they’re all so artsy.
I know I wouldn’t fit in, So why would I go?
I spent all night just trying to get you to text me.
Hoping, just once, that you would select me
To be the man that takes you home to your doorstep,
Gives you a high five, and we could take one more step.
It’s gonna be OK, But just this time.
Once you get to know me think you’ll find that I’m funny,
But laughter don’t pay the bills, now does it, honey?
Are you the kind of girl who likes fancy cars
Or just lying down together looking up at the stars?
Well, Let’s get lost!
I only think it’s fair that you should know:
We won’t be rich, but it won’t get old.
We’re gonna be OK,
Let’s get lost!
