Hi Alps Fever
03:48
|
|||
Haunting dreams,
sickness bothering me,
closed in box, darkness covering
all the hope, so try to float, try to float.
Out of bed,
images in my head,
moan to speak like the living dead.
Wanna feed and terrorize, so terrorize.
Lately, i'm suffering from self pity
Every inch and centimeter of me
But I still think, I've had enough.
The city burns,
along with the problems,
freedom sings, back to the action on the streets - spreading the peace, spreading the peace.

Afternoon
03:26
|
|||
What a mindless way to waste an afternoon
Just running and screaming and rolling up the loose ends (And tying them off)
I know this town don’t like the look of me,
I see them, they whisper. They’re pointing as I go by.
But something about the scenery
Makes me want to stay till I die.
Cause time is such a valuable commodity.
Wait, it’s all becoming clear.
Why would I write down something even I don’t want to hear?
I guess I knew the answers before I heard the questions,
And now that I can ask them, it’s so much less impressive.
So when do I get callous to disappointment,
Without all the color draining from my eyes?
(And from the skyline)
Well it’s always nice to have a new sidekick,
With seeing and thinking that covers all the spectrum
See the light.

Dead End
04:02
|
|||
Walking away
Into the light of the darkness,
So watch us stumble
And cry ourselves
Back to sleep,
Squinting your eyes at the headlights.
It's worse than we imagined,
Each way leads us to a dead end.
The lights, sounds, echoes & patterns
Of a thousand lives weave together.
They say you've changed.
You’re too smart for the clever-hearted,
So change your way of life and the way that you
Think you’re right.
I'm not the same and I'm older,
You're just afraid that you've lost your power.
It's not so bad in the morning,
The darkness evaporates like dew from the grass.
The sky ahead’s looking stormy,
But it's not so bad when you live in the past.

How We Manage
03:41
|
|||
Whoa, we’ve got to go
It’s getting rough, it’s getting vicious
Don’t look now We’re throwing dishes.
Oh, let’s hit the road.
The smell of trees, it makes me tired,
Leave behind all the barbed wire.
This is how we manage
(Don’t think that I’m being too demanding.)
Words that cut and damage
(I hope the light is on when I get home)
I was looking at the sky.
It looked more nervous than both of us combined.
I try evading all the lies.
They seem to surface every single time.

I’m not superstitious,
But I believe in words and wishes,
Chemistry and pills to dull the pain.
But it’s girls like you who drive a guy insane.
You’re looking at me and I’m looking in your eyes.
You ask me what I see and I’m seeing through your lies.
You try to write a book, try to tell a story.
Well everything you say is just getting boring.
This ain’t picture perfect, signed
"Anonymous. No urgency at all."
Stamped and sealed, return to sender,
You knew I’d never surrender!

Guesswork
03:28
|
|||
Hey Mr. Sign, am I driving too fast?
I didn’t mean to be a hazard
I guess that’s how it goes.
Don’t be embarrassed,
Just ask me to stop.
I didn’t see your bolded letters,
I guess that’s how we grow.
It’s cold outside and I can see
That you’re the last one I’m confronting.
Should I just sit back and look cool
Or scream out in a lie, confessing?
Oh.
You blurred right past me
And caused such a scene.
Every moment that is wasted-
You won’t get them back.

Thespian Party
03:29
|
|||
I hope you had fun at your after-party,
Your thespian friends, well, they’re all so artsy.
I know I wouldn’t fit in, So why would I go?
I spent all night just trying to get you to text me.
Hoping, just once, that you would select me
To be the man that takes you home to your doorstep,
Gives you a high five, and we could take one more step.
It’s gonna be OK, But just this time.
Once you get to know me think you’ll find that I’m funny,
But laughter don’t pay the bills, now does it, honey?
Are you the kind of girl who likes fancy cars
Or just lying down together looking up at the stars?
Well, Let’s get lost!
I only think it’s fair that you should know:
We won’t be rich, but it won’t get old.
We’re gonna be OK,
Let’s get lost!

Snow Bird
02:44
|
|||
The crash that happened was no coincidence.
The picture that you took was used as evidence
To prove that we had something more than our lives to lose.
Hop into the car, we've got not time for your shoes.
Always there's a reason,
We don't always know why.
It's always the right season,
When the snow bird flies.
You feel just like a dust speck when the wind blows by.
The grapevine you've been growing finally got too high,
So you must walk away and let it die. Let it die.

Altitude
03:22
|
|||
With twenty bucks in my flannel coat
I’ll make my way up a rocky slope.
With every step, I lose another memory.
And pretty soon the altitude
Will take away all thoughts of you.
I’ll make a piñata of your letters.
Paper mache, The size is about right.
Machete by your bed at night.
I woke up on a mountain top.
I was falling fast and then I couldn’t stop.
The whole valley was coming up to greet me.
And pretty soon the altitude
Took away all thoughts of you.
You were standing there with broken arms and I could feel your love slip away,
And my heart was
Paper mache, The size is about right.
Machete by your bed at night.
Alright.

Connecting Lines
04:25
|
|||
Sometimes things like this
Stack up over time,
And when they finally hit,
It’s so hard to describe.
I thought that you were gone forever,
But you came back stronger than ever.
The connecting lines hold us down.
When I found this gold,
Hidden in this vase,
My troubles ran away,
And sorrow hid its face.
I thought that they’d be gone forever,
But they came back stronger than ever.
The connecting lines hold us down.
Tried to run away,
But darkness found its place.
Tried to yell for help,
But it was smothering my face.
You thought that I’d be gone forever,
But I’ll be back, stronger than ever.
The connecting lines hold us down.

Lantern Girl
04:54
|
|||
Lantern girl,
Bring in some light to this world.
It’s so grey.
Lantern girl,
Bring in some light to this world.
It’s so great to see you smiling,
While the days are slowly filing by,
And the rain is piling up on the leaves outside.
Don’t wake up before I go.
Happiest girl I’ve ever known.
The fog leads you away and I say, don’t go.
The fog leads you astray and I say, don’t go.
Don’t go.
Evening sky calls your name,
The clouds float by the sun’s doused flame.
Evening sky calls your name,
The clouds float by,
But we remain.
The stars lead you away and I say, don’t go.
The stars lead you astray and I say don’t go.
Don’t go.
