Dallin wrote the verses in Switzerland. Over Summer 2009, we were both working at a trampoline warehouse, and during lunch breaks we would write songs. That's when we came up with the rest of it. We first recorded it on Dallin's camera in his kitchen.
lyrics
Walking away
Into the light of the darkness,
So watch us stumble
And cry ourselves
Back to sleep,
Squinting your eyes at the headlights.
It's worse than we imagined,
Each way leads us to a dead end.
The lights, sounds, echoes & patterns
Of a thousand lives weave together.
They say you've changed.
You’re too smart for the clever-hearted,
So change your way of life and the way that you
Think you’re right.
I'm not the same and I'm older,
You're just afraid that you've lost your power.
It's not so bad in the morning,
The darkness evaporates like dew from the grass.
The sky ahead’s looking stormy,
But it's not so bad when you live in the past.
